Littoral
Littoral takes its name from the zone where land meets water — a boundary that is never entirely fixed. Emerging from observations of swimmers along the Côte d’Azur, the work considers the body at this threshold: suspended, exposed, drifting between immersion and return.
The figures are less portraits than states of being. Seen from a distance, bodies dissolve into light, water and gesture; moments of leisure begin to resemble ritual. The paintings linger on this ambiguity — between looking and remembering, the ordinary and the sacred, presence and disappearance.
